Express. Home of the Daily and Sunday Express. ROBERT DOWNEY JR is back on the big screen in a children's adventure movie - but can you watch it online? PUBLISHED: PUBLISHED: 08:01, Fri, Feb 7, 2020 Dolittle is the latest movie from Robert Downey Jr, seeing him taking on another beloved character. Dr Dolittle is known for his ability to speak to animals, and an epic adventure will await Downey’s version of the character. But for those who are unable to watch it at the cinema, is there a way to watch it online? Can you watch Dolittle online? As Dolittle is not yet in cinemas, it is not available to legally download or stream online at the moment. While many films have what is known as “simultaneous distribution, ” meaning it is made available online and to watch at the cinema at the same time, this is not the case for Dolittle. The movie may be available on Amazon Prime to download in the future, however, that is not the case currently. Dolittle streaming: Can I watch the FULL movie online? Is it legal? (Image: Universal Pictures) In fact, there are some strict penalties for those who attempt to watch the movie online illegally. Any website claiming to have the film for streaming or download is illegal. The Digital Economy Act 2017 means people could now face ten-year prison sentences for illegally streaming copyrighted content. To be sure you’re not watching copyrighted material, you should go direct to companies such as Netflix or Amazon Prime, according to FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft). Robert Downey Jnr and Jessie Buckley in Dolittle (Image: Universal Pictures) To add further warning, CEO of FACT, Kieron Sharp said: “There are now more ways than ever for consumers to watch movies and TV but not going to legitimate sources to watch new movies is not a grey area: it is against the law. “As well as being illegal, evidence shows that streaming pirated content is incredibly risky and can expose users to malware and inappropriate content. “Not only does that deny the best viewing experience, it’s just not worth taking the chance. ” The film is out in cinemas on February 7, so fans can get to their local multiplex and watch it very soon. The young Harry Collett in Dolittle (Image: Universal Pictures) What is Dolittle about? Much like other movies about Dr Dolittle, the main premise is a doctor who can speak to animals, though this film takes quite a turn. Universal Pictures, who is releasing the movie, writes in its synopsis: “After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. “But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures. Robert Downey Jnr as Dr John Dolittle (Image: Universal Pictures) “The doctor is joined on his quest by a young, del-appointed apprentice (Dunkirk’s Harry Collett) and a raucous coterie of animal friends, including an anxious gorilla (Rami Malek), an enthusiastic but bird-brained duck (Octavia Spencer), a bickering duo of a cynical ostrich (Kumail Nanjiani) and an upbeat polar bear (John Cena) and a headstrong parrot (Emma Thompson), who serves as Dolittle’s most trusted advisor and confidante. ” The film features a huge number of famous people as well as the Avengers star, and will hopefully delight audiences despite it receiving lukewarm reviews from critics. Hopefully, with the film being made for children, it will reach its target audience better than critics. Dolittle is out in cinemas on February 7.

Plot [ edit] This section needs expansion. You can help by adding to it. ( January 2020) Dr. John Dolittle ( Robert Downey Jr. ), is a vet who can talk to animals. After his wife Lily ( Kasia Smutniak), dies at sea, Dolittle confines himself to his home and attending his animals, no longer wanting contact with other humans. One day, a boy named Tommy Stubbins ( Harry Collett), accidentally shoots and wounds a squirrel named Kevin ( Craig Robinson), and decides to go to Dolittle for help. On the same day, Queen Victoria ( Jessie Buckley), sends a message, ordering Dolittle to come in order to try to cure her of a deadly sickness. After being persuaded by the animals, Dolittle finally decides to go. Upon reaching her, he finds that the Queen has eaten a poisonous type of nightshade. To be cured, she must eat a fruit from a land far away. Dolittle, Tommy, and a crew of animals put to sail, hoping to find the cure while trying to avoid Dolittle's long ago rival. Dolittle leaves his dog Jip and a stick bug behind to watch over the Queen. Along the way, Dolittle's boat is attacked by Dr. Blair Müdfly ( Michael Sheen). They are able to escape by attaching a harness to a whale that pulls the boat to safety much to Müdfly’s astonishment. Dolittle is captured by King Rassouli ( Antonio Banderas), his ex-father-in-law, and is locked in a cage with Barry ( Ralph Fiennes), a tiger only looking for his mother's approval. Just when it looks like Dolittle is in trouble, Chee-Chee the Gorilla ( Rami Malek) breaks in and hits Barry. Dolittle and Stubbins escape only to be captured by Dr. Blair, Dolittle’s rival, and have their ship destroyed. After seeing a discouraged Dolittle, Rassouli loans him a boat for reasons from his daughter. Dolittle and company arrive at an island where they meet Ginko-Who-Soars ( Frances de la Tour), an angry, fire breathing dragon. Ginko begins attacking before she falls due to pain. Dolittle figures out what is hurting Ginko and proceeds to remove armour and bagpipes (from previously eaten trespassers) from Ginko's behind. A relieved Ginko shows Dolittle the tree with the cure. Stubbins gives the queen the plant which cures her. Dolittle’s stick bug announces that Lord Thomas poisoned the queen in order to take the crown. The queen has him arrested. Dolittle re-opens the doors to his sanctuary now including Stubbins. A mid credit scene shows Müdfly trying to communicate with bats that turn around and attack him. Production [ edit] On March 20, 2017, it was announced that Robert Downey Jr. would star in The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, a feature adaptation of The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle. [6] In December 2017, Harry Collett and Jim Broadbent were cast. [7] [8] In February 2018, Antonio Banderas and Michael Sheen were cast in live-action roles, while Tom Holland, Emma Thompson, Ralph Fiennes, and Selena Gomez were cast to voice animals, including a tiger, bear, and a lioness. [9] [10] In March 2018, Kumail Nanjiani, Octavia Spencer, John Cena, Rami Malek, Craig Robinson, Marion Cotillard, Frances de la Tour and Carmen Ejogo joined the voice cast. [11] The character of Regine, a lioness voiced by Ejogo, was cut from the finished film. [ citation needed] Principal production commenced mid-February in 2018. Live-action scenes began filming in Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria in May 2018, with further location filming at South Forest, Windsor Great Park and on the Menai Suspension Bridge in North West Wales, in June 2018. [12] In April 2019, it was reported the film had undergone 21 days of re-shoots following poor test screenings. Director Jonathan Liebesman helped to oversee the filming alongside Gaghan, while Chris McKay helped write new material after it became clear from first cuts that the comedy elements of the film were not coming together as well as the producers had hoped. [2] Prior to this, Universal had turned towards Seth Rogen and Neighbors co-writer Brendan O'Brien to help make the film funnier. However, neither could remain committed to the project and dropped out. McKay was assigned to storyboard sequences and assemble different edits before later leaving to instead direct The Tomorrow War. Liebesman took over McKay's duties and finished the film alongside Gaghan. The Lego Batman Movie scribe John Whittington had performed rewrites on the script amid reshoots and had flown to London to meet with Downey, who allegedly tore Whittington's script apart in favor of "new ideas". The Hollywood Reporter claims that despite a "challenged production" there were no fights for power and no competing cuts for the film. [13] In August 2019, it was reported that the film's title had been changed from The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle to simply Dolittle. [14] In January 2020, Robert Downey Jr discussed on Joe Rogan 's podcast ( The Joe Rogan Experience) that the premise of the Dr. Dolittle character in his film stemmed from a Welsh neo-pagan physician called William Price. In the podcast he said: "Same way I did with Iron Man.. all right there's something here and then before I signed on, I was just googling 'weirdest Welsh doctor', I just wanted to think of, I don't want to just do another English accent.. so there was this guy called William Price, who's a nutty Welsh doctor, he was a neo-druidist, he believed that he could communicate with all nature and all that stuff, so I sent a picture of this wild looking guy wearing this kind of suit with stars on it and like a staff in his hand, so I sent that to Gaghan and he goes, "That looks good to me" and I was like "great let's do this movie"". [15] Music artist Sia performed a new song of hers called " Original " for the end credits, while Danny Elfman composed the film's score. [16] Release [ edit] The film was originally going to be released on May 24, 2019, by Universal Pictures but was moved to April 12, 2019, to avoid competition with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (which was later moved to December 20, 2019). [17] It was later pushed back to January 17, 2020. [18] Reception [ edit] Box office [ edit] As of February 2, 2020, Dolittle has grossed $55. 2 million in the United States and Canada, and $71. 4 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $126. 6 million, against a production budget of $175 million. [3] [4] Due to its high production and marketing costs, the film will need to gross around $500 million in order to break-even; [19] following its debut weekend, it was estimated the film would lose the studio between $50–100 million. [20] [21] In the United States and Canada, the film was projected to gross $20–22 million from 4, 155 theaters in its opening weekend, and a total of around $27 million over the four-day Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. [22] [23] It made $6. 3 million on its first day, including $925, 000 from Thursday night previews. It went on to debut to $22 million (and $29. 5 million over the four-day frame), finishing third behind fellow newcomer Bad Boys for Life and holdover 1917. [20] The film made $12. 1 million in its second weekend, remaining in third. [24] Critical response [ edit] On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 16% based on 164 reviews, with an average rating of 3. 95/10. The website's critics consensus reads: " Dolittle may be enough to entertain very young viewers, but they deserve better than this rote adaptation's jumbled story and stale humor. " [25] On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 27 out of 100, based on 43 critics, indicating "generally unfavorable reviews". [26] Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "B" on an A+ to F scale, while PostTrak reported an average 3 out of 5 stars. [20] Courtney Howard of Variety called the film a "frenetic, crass kids' flick" and wrote: "What should have been an awe-filled adventure quickly curdles into an awful one, thanks to a pedestrian formula and the filmmakers' fixation on fart jokes. " [27] Writing for The Hollywood Reporter, Todd McCarthy said that "From the very first scene, it's clear something is terribly off with this lavishly misbegotten attempt to repopularize an animal-loaded literary franchise that was born exactly a century ago. The oddly diffident star and executive producer Robert Downey Jr. never finds the power-supplying third rail needed to energize a tale that fails to make a real case for being reinterpreted". A great resource to use for reviews is You can search the title of a movie/book/game, the review will tell you all of the language, sexual content, drug and alcohol use, violent content and frightening scenes. We use it for every movie before we go and watch something. It gives a much more unbiased review of things. Everyone has different standards and everyone’s child(ren) are at different places and it’s hard to make decisions based off of personal decisions. For example: had I read the review above and saw that someone’s 9 year old was frightened in some parts, we wouldn’t have taken our group. On the other hand if someone saw that my group of 3-7 year olds didn’t get scared, and they take their four year old and they are frightened, it’s no good for the four year old or parent(s). And that might be part of the problem with the also among its strengths. “Dolittle” is the third motion picture version of the Newbery Medal-winning children’s series of Doctor Dolittle books written by British author Hugh Lofting during the 1920s. Originally appearing in the letters Lofting wrote to his children during his service as an enlisted man in the trenches of France during World War I, Doctor Dolittle is a physician who shuns human patients in favor of animals, due to a unique ability to communicate with non-human patients. Set in Victorian times and based mostly on “The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle” (the second of Lofting’s Doctor Dolittle collections), the movie “Dolittle” opens with a fairly innocuous “Once Upon a Time” prologue setting the stage for the film with the story of the character’s origin, illustrated onscreen with a series of drawing reminiscent of Lofting’s original books: Dr. John Dolittle is a British physician specializing in veterinary medicine. When he loses his beloved wife Lily during a perilous ocean voyage she undertakes without his company, Dolittle retires from medicine to become a hermit, living alone with his menagerie of animal friends on a vast, palatial walled-off estate near London. As the picture’s main narrative begins, young Tommy Stubbins seriously injures a squirrel while reluctantly hunting by his country-bred father, and gathers the wounded squirrel into a box to seek the services of the reclusive Dolittle. Young Stubbins gains entry to Dolittle’s estate simultaneous to the arrival of young Lady Rose, who also seeks Dolittle’s services to save the gravely ill Queen Victoria, at the monarch’s own request. Appointing himself Dolittle’s apprentice, young Stubbins assists the disheveled and unkempt physician in saving the life of the wounded squirrel. And after Dolittle performs some rudimentary grooming on himself, Stubbins and the reclusive physician set off for Buckingham Palace to examine the Queen. Dolittle shortly discovers the ailing Queen is suffering from a rare disease which requires as a cure an equally-rare elixir, found only in “the fruit of a plant that’s never been seen, growing on an island that’s never been found. ” And accompanied by a crew of his most capable animal friends, Dolittle and young Tommy Stubbins set off on a perilous ocean voyage to locate the mysterious island and plant, and transport the elixir back to England in time to save the life of the ailing Queen. Directed by Stephen Gaghan from a script credited to Dan Gregor, Doug Mand, and Chris McKay, “Dolittle” is filled with adventure, spectacular sight gags, and colorful set pieces and action sequences. In fact, “Dolittle” contains practically everything you can think cohesion. The film doesn’t flow from segment to segment so much as if morphs from style to style, and from genre to genre. There’s always plenty going on in the picture and even more to look at on the screen, with marvelous scenes including a delightfully exciting chase atop a galloping giraffe as the young Stubbins races to catch Dolittle’s departing ship for the voyage to the unknown island. In a way, “Dolittle” resembles “Monty Python” without the laughs. If the 102-minute picture added another hour or so to its running time, it might’ve found its own unique style. In its final form, the picture lacks the central ingredient required of any such movie enterprise--Disney Magic. Instead, the picture is strongly reminiscent of those jaunty, ramshackle comedy spectaculars from the 1960s with titles like “Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines” and “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”.. panned during their original releases which sometimes became family favorites on television. The adult in you might roll your eyes at some of “Dolittle”.. your four- to seven-year-old self will cherish the movie forever. As Dolittle, actor Robert Downey Jr. has a wonderful time channeling his Academy Award-nominated characterization from “Chaplin, ” Richard Attenborough’s 1992 motion picture biography of controversial silent film legend Charlie Chaplin. In his first non-Iron Man role since 2014’s “The Judge, ” Downey adopts a subdued and distracted accent of elusive Welsh or Scottish origin (one character refers to it as “his lean in, lean in, I’m saying something interesting voice”) and fashions a character who’s variously scatterbrained, brilliant, dramatic, sympathetic, and occasionally infuriating. In other words, Downey’s characterization as Dolittle will need to satisfy his legions of fans until he returns to performing in more serious roles. In the film’s other live-action roles, Antonio Banderas appears as Rassouli, the Pirate King who also happens to be Dolittle’s vengeful father-in-law (and still blames the doctor for the demise of his beloved daughter), a villainous Michael Sheen as Dr. Mudfly, an old schoolmate of Dolittle and primary physician to Queen Victoria, 16-year-old Harry Collett as Tommy Stubbins, Dolittle’s companion and apprentice, and Jessie Buckley in wraparound segments in a brief role as Queen Victoria. Rendered in wonderfully lifelike CGI-created incarnations, Dolittle's menagerie of animal friends includes narrator Emma Thompson appears as a wisecracking parrot, Rami Malek as a timid gorilla, John Cena as a cheerful polar bear, Kumail Nanjiani as a cynical ostrich, Octavia Spencer as an addled duck (with a prosthetic leg), Downey’s Marvel colleague Tom Holland as a bespectacled dog, Ralph Fiennes as a vengeful tiger, Selena Gomez as an adventurous giraffe, and Marion Cotillard as a friendly fox. Tony-winning Broadway actress Frances de la Tour appears late in the picture as a heartburn-suffering gives new definition to the reason a “Ginko-Who-Soars” produces fire. Principal photography for “Dolittle” began in February 2018 in Cumbria, with additional location filming in England’s Windsor Great Park and Wales’ Menai Suspension Bridge. Following disappointing test screenings, the picture underwent some three weeks of additional production, with filmmaker Jonathan Liebesman assisting Gaghan behind the camera and “The Lego Movie” veteran Chris McKay contributing additional comedy elements. Late in 2019, the picture’s title was officially changed from “The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle” to simply “Dolittle. ” Produced by Downey himself and his wife Susan for their Team Downey production company, “Dolittle” is rated PG for some action, rude humor, and brief language concerns. February 3, 2020 Format: Prime Video Three adults - my son, my spouse, and I went to see this in theaters, mostly because I found the over-the-top snarky critical pans super annoying and didn't think they told me anything about the actual production. My 28 year old son thought it was OK and definitely worth seeing at least once, my spouse generally liked it but had a few quibbles with historical consistency, and I liked it perfectly well and would watch it again. I do think there are a few stylistic inconsistencies that keep it from being a truly great movie, but it's a *good* movie, and so I encourage folks to disregard the easy snarky disdain of irresponsible critics. The movie follows a picarescque story tradition rather than action-adventure or hero's journey traditions that are most popular today: that choice is consistent with the stylistic era of Lofting's book series. The target audience is families, and there are messages about self-acceptance and it being OK to feel afraid etc. that are geared towards young people, but adults may appreciate them too. Robert Downey is an excellent comic as well as dramatic actor, with great physical comedy skills and he does not fail to impress again with his range. The vocal talent is suited to the characters played, though the various American regional accents were inconsistent with the overall early Victorian setting (one of those choices I found strange and inconsistent). There did seem to be some tendency to mix "toddler humor" with nuanced dramatic moments, and there was no clear concept or strategy that I could see of when to engage in historically authentic choices and when to toss any kind of historical approach to the winds (the accents as mentioned earlier, for example). However, having said all that, take it for what it is, don't expect it to be a Kevin Feige film or anything else, and enjoy the lovely visuals, the fantastic FX, the charm, Downey's great comedic and dramatic skills, and the good humor of the overall production. I'll definitely get it when it comes out on DVD. :) January 31, 2020 Format: Prime Video Charming, fun, fast paced, wonderful movie. Dolittle and Stubbins, his apprentice/assistant, and various animal friends go on a quest to find a special tree. They need the fruit of the tree to cure a very sick young queen. Their adventures and their friendships are marvelous! The movie went by in a flash - I never once looked at my watch. And it's not just for kids (who will love it) but every age can enjoy it. I plan to see it again. Be sure you stay for the cleverly done acting credits. We loved that, too!

Movie stream dolittle 6. Robert Downey Jr. played Iron Man in avengers and now hes playing this. F U, IT'S JANUARY! is really living up to its name this year. Eh. A Dragon in this movie What The Heck.

00:29 I see he still remembers what he learned from Chaplin. I loved Chris talking about getting his child on a ride. Both Robert and Scarlett are so concerned, and angry at the lack of good parenting, and Paul's just sat there quietly like 'this man's a genius.

Than I'll never know.
