It is located in Ione, California, in Amador County. [3] After construction was finished in 1890, the institution was opened in June 1894 when seven wards (minors under the guardianship of the state, but not necessarily juvenile offenders), were transferred there from San Quentin State Prison. For those who saw something form at 7:37 - 7:41 I am looking into it. I will try to brighten the master footage to see what it is, or if I can get it to be clearer. If I can figure out for sure what it is (It could possibly be my hand lifting up from the top of the box, but not sure yet as I have not gone over the master footage yet) but it sure does look mist like. Bottom line is at this point I am not sure what that it could be something or it may be nothing. Thank you all for pointing it out.
Now I understand why Pavement were by far the best band out of 90ies! They didn't only have SM, but also Spiral Stairs. When two excellent musical minds meet and the outcome is higher than the sum of its parts you have something magic! Think of Lennon/McCartney, Strummer/Jones, Morrisey/Marr, Jagger/Richards ecc ecc.
That is a beautiful building. Well worth restoring. They should turn it into the California State Military Academy boarding high school for young men and women who come from lower and middle income families who are intelligent but are having behavior problems that are holding them back from realizing their full potential. I saw the Flips live a few weeks ago and it seems like Wayne got some lessons, he sounds amazing. Was wondering if anyone else who has been there had any similar experiences or if the name stephen has ever came up there for anyone else or means anything to anybody else who has been there?I would like to go back someday, I am not sure if my accident was caused by something there or if I survived my accident because of something there or if the 2 things are just coincidental but I was very fortunate to survive it and often wonder.

This film took a real event in history and distorted and changed it to fit their own agenda. To claim it was based on true events is grasping at straws. Also, their take on Preston's history is blatantly sensationalized. Anna Corbin was a real person, her murder was brutal and the man who killed her got away with it. The Superintendent or "Warden" did not kill Anna Corbin, it was a ward, Eugene Monroe, from the school who had been suspected of killing another young woman in 1947, then in 1950 Anna was murdered while he was at Preston on cleaning detail just yards away from Anna's office. Although he was acquitted, he went on to murder again, this time in Tulsa, the victim being a pregnant dance instructor. He went to prison for 29 years for that crime. The filmmakers had no right to take Anna's story and change it, or to make her out to be a vindictive ghost when that is not the case. They have dishonored the dead who walked the halls of Preston. Just like in the movie the Conjuring, the name and story of a defenseless woman has been sullied and slandered with no way to speak for herself to tell the world that their telling of her story is false. This is not a true story, this is a work of complete fiction and slander.

I tend to give low budget horror a lot of leeway. This is so bad, I can't with good conscience do that. There are no half stars to give. Simply put- one of the worst attempts at horror in a long time. Clearly the producers have no idea how to make a film worth watching. I feel sorry for actors, the crew and the investors.
